In order to satisfy with the demand of cooperative formation for relative navigation in autonomy and high precision, both advantages and disadvantages of several relative navigation techniques are analyzed in this paper. A study direction of relative navigation which is available for the cooperative formation is presented, and then the interrelated researches are discussed
