The Time to First Fix (TTFF) of a receiver is an important indication of measuring the receiver function. During the cold start of a receiver, the fact that the signals from visible satellites are locked by the way of enquiry and ephemeris data are accumulated would lead to TTFF to be prolonged. The paper presents a method of accelerating a receiver’s cold start time based on the RDSS network. The method is used to improve greatly the TTFF and has a bright prospect of application.
