Abstract:Locata, a new positioning technology, which developed by Locata Corporation in Australia, is presented. It is designed to overcome the limitations of GNSS currently available, and can provide users with highly precise positioning service. A time-synchronized pseudolite transceiver, called a LocataLite is described in this paper. A network of LocataLites forms a LocataNET which transmits GPS-like signals. Each LocataLite dynamically synchronizes with other LocataLites using a patented method called TimeLoc. The single-point positioning using carrier-phase measurements for a mobile device (a Locata) is achieved.
