Abstract:In this paper, a six-element Yagi antenna is designed by novel self-adaptive hybrid differential evolution algorithm. Firstly, the theory and procedure of novel self-adaptive hybrid differential evolution algorithm is described. Then, the gain of six-element Yagi antenna is optimized by the algorithm while the length and space of the elements arm is acted as optimization variable, and the result is better than other algorithms. When considering practical problems, the gain and impedance are optimized simultaneously, and better results are gained. The results show that this method is suitable to design Yagi antenna in engineering design.
