Abstract:In order to balance the electrical properties and cost of the antenna, a Ku-band broadband t-type phased array antenna is designed, the analysis and design process of the antenna is presented which is composed of two one-dimensional linear arrays, two one-dimensional linear arrays with orthogonal layout can form an orthogonal double sector beam in a small angle range, finite scan is realized which satisfying the scanning precision of radar antenna, the number of antenna elements and phase shifters are reduced and the cost of antenna is reduced. The test results show that the gain of a single linear array is greater than 30.9 dBi within 34% operating bandwidth. In coherent combination mode, the antenna gain increased by about 3 dB and the beam width is 1°×1°, the test results are in good agreement with the design analysis.
