Abstract:In response to the inflexibility, limited upgradability and expandability, hindered open development and procurement, and the challenges in implementing a multi-task radar system caused by the direct tight coupling between the radar back-end and the defined components of the front-end, the key issue of the front-end lacks autonomy is identified in the study, resulting in its inability to provide comprehensive capability services. Based on the analysis of capability requirements, an autonomous serviced front-end design method is proposed. Autonomous resource management scheduling and encapsulated overall capability services for external use is implemented. The design effectively simplifies the management and control requirements of the corresponding radar back-end and it is easier to build complex and adaptable multi-task radar systems. The proposed method also promotes independent and efficient development of loosely coupled front-end and back-end, facilitates interchangeability and rapid integration of any front-end and back-end, and contributes to the thriving of software-defined radar technology ecosystem.
